Over mij/mijn reis

About me:
Twenty-one years ago I was born in the Netherlands. I still live here. I work as an Assistant Marketing and Communication. I'm also a part-time student Commercial Economics. In the future I would like to learn the language Mandarin, but first I must get this diploma. My hobbies are cooking, fitness, wintersports, photography and of course travelling.

In 2008 I went to South America, to Brazil. Since then I have a weakness for travelling. In 2011 I went with my brother to Thailand, an amazing country if you ask me. We have seen such beautiful places, we have met the always friendly people (almost always...) and enjoyed the cultural temples. Look here for some photos.

This year I will go back to Asia to meet the people, the religion, the temples/monasteries and also for nature. I hope that I will see a lot more amazing places in the future.

About my journey:

On 28 April I will go to New Delhi in northern India. After 7 days I will continue my journey to Nepal: Chitwan N.P., Kathmandu and some villages such as Bhaktapur and Nagarkot. Hereafter I will cross the Chinese border to Shigatse, Gyantse and Lhasa. Except the monasteries, I would like to visit an orphanage in Lhasa. The Himalayan Express, or in other words the ‘Sky Train', will wait for me on May 20. In 36 hours I will drive through the Chinese highlands and small villages to Xian. I will stay in Xian for 2 days and finally I will arrive in Beijing. In this city I want to learn more about the Chinese history.
